Japanese Fashion???

COSPLAY

Cosplay (コスプレ, kosupure) is the Japanese word for dressing up like a Japanese character. Cosplay is popular in places like Tokyo's Harajuku district.

The word Cosplay from the joining of two English words "costume" and "play". Typically Japanese will dress as their favourite character from manga, anime, video games, J Rock or pop band or movie.
Cosplay involves dressing in very elaborate costumes, normally made by themselves, with other people who like to do the same thing. While the cosplay is normally done for themselves, it has become a public spectacle in places like Harajuku, where interested members of public, mainly western tourist, come to take pictures. At times there can be more photographers than there are cosplayers.

Since 1998, Tokyo's Akihabara district has contained a large number of cosplay cafés, catering to devoted anime and cosplay fans. The waitresses at such cafés dress as game or anime characters; maid costumes are particularly popular. There is a large range of Maid Cafes.

Misa chan Cosplay, ( from the Anime Death Note )

In my own opinion I like a lot the Cosplay, is funny and atractive but I disagree in the idea of walk by the street dressed with cosplay clothes! =S I could dress me with cosplay clothes but for example at the Anime Conventions, but well.. for some japanese youngers Cosplay is the way they live...

That's my opinion...

 and.....

Would you like to be a cosplay?

Unsubstantiated rumor alert: Fox dumping ‘Dragonball’?

Take this with a grain of salt, but Film Junk is reporting that an anonymous source claims Fox execs are so unhappy with footage of their upcoming live-action Dragonball adaptation that they’re actually considering shutting down the project altogether and cutting their losses. Now, I totally believe the part about the footage being terrible. Any time you hire a former cast member of MTV’s “Real World” for a role you know you’re in trouble. But I have a really hard time believing they’d completely shut down something they’ve put so much time and money into already. So before all the 12-year-olds start to cry and the manga purists throw a victory parade let’s wait for some confirmation one way or the other.

The latest in the “Lady Ninja Kasumi” pinku V-cinema series, Sanada Kunoichi Ninpo-den: Kasumi - Nairan! Yukimura Ansatsu!! (something like “Lady Ninja Kasumi: Rebellion! Yukimura Assassination!!") will be screened at Uplink Factory in Shibuya this Sunday and the DVD will be released on October 22nd. This time around Kasumi will be played by AV actress Nana Nanaumi, who made her adult debut last October. Hiroshi Kuze (The Twilight Samurai, Ichi) handled all the sword fight choreography.

The story revolves around a man named Takuma who works under the legendary samurai Sanada Yukimura teaching a secret technique called “Kakure Musou”. However, Sanada won’t allow Takuma to actually fight for him because he’s hampered by a painful disease of the eyes. It’s the worst kind of humiliation for a warrior like Takuma. A woman, played by Asami(Sukeban Boy, The Machine Girl), eventually makes a special medicine that helps him recover from his affliction. Meanwhile, Kasumi is sent to investigate a bandit who intends to assassinate Sanada. As the threat of assassination draws closer the shocking truth is exposed and Kasumi is forced to face off against an unlikely betrayer.

Here’s the trailer, followed by a little featurette about the fight choreography. Not work safe, to say the least.
